Casa Buzzard

This is not a house you tour. It's one you feel. Casa Buzzard is nearly 13,000 square feet of curved white architecture cut into a Cabo hillside, and every line of it was drawn to move with the landscape rather than sit on top of it. The compound cascades down the rock in terraced levels, each one opening to a different angle of the Pacific. You walk through it and the ocean follows you from room to room.

Seven bedrooms. That number matters because this is a house built for gathering. The kind where your closest people fly in for a long weekend and nobody feels stacked on top of each other. There's a rooftop fire pit ringed with curved terracotta loungers and pieces of driftwood sculpture, and that's where the night ends up happening -- the Pacific stretched out below, no walls, no ceiling, just open sky and good conversation. The dining room seats twelve-plus at a solid parota wood table under a sculptural wooden ceiling, with 180 degrees of glass wrapping the ocean around you. Dinner here is not a meal. It's a production.

The kitchen is massive -- marble island, open to the living space, ocean views from every window. You cook with the water in front of you. Morning coffee on the terrace. The freeform infinity pool curves into the hillside like it grew there. Cacti and bougainvillea frame everything without trying too hard. Nothing about this property is conventional, and nothing about it apologizes for that. It's 6.5 million dollars of architecture that knows exactly what it is.
